Something to Talk About: March 2019

Looking for ways to keep the conversation going about LGBTQ issues with your ERG, community group, or PFLAG chapter? Welcome to Something to Talk About, a monthly series designed by PFLAG National’s Straight for EqualityTM program to create conversation about LGBTQ issues. Each month we’ll offer an article on LGBTQ topics and suggest a few questions you can use to lead a discussion.

Have feedback about how your conversation went? Let us know by emailing [email protected].

More than 100 religious leaders in Tennessee take a stand against slate of anti-LGBT legislation

Source: Tennessean

Author: Holly Meyer

Questions for Discussion:

  1. Does this story surprise you? Why or why not?
  2. Are you aware of any other coordinated efforts to stand up against anti-LGBTQ legislation in Tennessee and/or other states? If so, what are they? If not, what could you do to learn more?
  3. If someone came to your group looking for more information about the intersection of faith/religion and LGBTQ issues, what would you suggest? If you’re not sure, where do you think you would start looking for those kinds of resources? (Helpful hint: This might be a great place to get started!)
