- One person interviewed in the article refers to Halloween as “the gay Christmas” and makes reference to the historic reasons why the holiday is so popular in LGBTQ+ spaces. Can you name any of the specific reasons that this might be the case historically? Do you think that the reasons for Halloween remaining so popular in queer spaces still apply today?
- The article mentioned the challenges (and innovation) that happened around the cancellation of Pride celebrations in June. Can you name some ways that you might be able to build community this Halloween in spite of remaining socially distant or quarantined that can support LGBTQ+ people who might be experiencing depression from social withdrawal?
- It’s Halloween, so we have to ask: Name one funny thing that frightens you, and identify one serious thing that frightens you!
