Looming Decisions at the Supreme Court

After oral arguments in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis in December 2022, many LGBTQ+ advocates began to fear for the worst. The decision, which many expect will be issued this month, is likely to walk back many of the rights and protections that LGBTQ+ advocates have been fighting for, for decades.

We hosted a conversation about this article as a part of PFLAG Connects and Something to Talk About Live on Thursday, June 15. Did you miss it? You can still watch it here!

Questions for Discussion:

  1. What, if anything, do you know about 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis? Did you follow the oral arguments in December 2022? Where can you learn more?
  2. The survey highlighted in this article notes that almost “every major religious group oppose allowing religiously based service refusals.” Did any of that data surprise you? Why or why not?
  3. Would you continue to shop at a local business in your community that refused goods or services to people who are LGBTQ+? Why or why not?
