Have You Thought About Year-End Giving?
With the winter holidays in full swing, many people use this time to consider ways to give back to their communities, make charitable donations, and to volunteer with organizations that focus on issues that they care about. For many LGBTQ+ organizations like PFLAG, events like Give Out Day, Giving Tuesday, and year-end-giving campaigns make up an integral part of how funds are raised to do life-saving work and achieve our mission.
Join us live Thursday, December 7th at 4:30 PM ET / 1:30 PM PT for our monthly episode of Something to Talk About Live! where we will discuss “Why do they give? Donors speak about what moves them and how they plan end-of-year donations,” by Thailia Beaty which appeared on apnews.com.
We are excited to welcome Maggie Ardiente, Director of Development at PFLAG National, and other members of the PFLAG National staff to join us to talk about the impact that donors like you have on the work that PFLAG is able to do each year. We’ll also discuss the why, when, how, and where the PFLAG National team donates our time, talent, and treasure!

Questions for Discussion:
- How do you decide if, where, and when you are going to make charitable donations? Have you found that your motivations for giving have changed over time?
- Beyond financial contributions, what ways have you found to give back to your community? In your opinion, what kinds of volunteer opportunities are the most satisfying?
- If you were going to encourage friends, family, and community members to an organization that you care about (like PFLAG!) – how would you make your case?
