Exclusive LGBTQ+ Legislative Issue Briefings

Many organizations are looking for ways to educate leadership and employees about what local, state and federal laws that impact the LGBTQ+ community mean for business and inclusion. PFLAG National—a nonpartisan organization—offers one-hour, workplace-appropriate issue overview briefings. Using PFLAG’s inclusive, diverse, and education focused approach, this session provides unique and timely learning opportunities for participants. Please note: Content for these briefings is dependent on current issues/events.

Who this course is for

General audience, no prior knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues required

Leveraging PFLAG’s 50 years of experience as the nation’s original ally organization, this session will:

  • Learn more about the cultural backdrop for what is happening in both legislative and judicial activity around LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion
  • Discuss key issues being faced by people who are LGBTQ+ at both state and federal levels
  • Know how to take action to promote equality and inclusion in everyday settings as well as find out what issue advocacy tools are available for more advanced steps
  • Optional: Include brief employee narratives about how the current political landscape is affecting their lives and the lives of their families. PFLAG provides guidance on the creation of these personal stories

For in-person and hybrid sessions that include employee narratives, this session is only available in a 90-minute format. Online sessions that include employee narratives are only available in a 75-minute format.

An overview of global trends on LGBTQ+ equality can be included as a part of this session.
